Marine Pollution and Environmental Protection

Marine pollution represents a major challenge for ocean ecosystems, biodiversity, human health, and coastal economies. This session explores the sources, distribution, impacts, monitoring, and management of marine pollutants. Discussions will include plastic pollution, microplastics, oil contamination, chemical pollutants, wastewater, agricultural runoff, and emerging contaminants. The effects of pollution on marine organisms, food webs, habitats, and coastal communities will be examined. Advanced technologies for detecting and tracking pollutants will also be highlighted. Researchers will discuss prevention strategies, waste reduction, remediation technologies, and ecosystem restoration approaches. International cooperation and effective environmental policies will be emphasized as important components of pollution control.
