Marine Biodiversity and Ecosystem Conservation

Marine ecosystems support an extraordinary diversity of organisms and provide essential ecological services to communities worldwide. This session focuses on marine biodiversity, ecosystem functioning, species interactions, and conservation strategies. Discussions will cover biodiversity assessment, habitat protection, endangered marine species, ecosystem restoration, and the impacts of human activities on marine environments. Particular attention will be given to marine protected areas and science-based conservation approaches. New monitoring technologies and ecological assessment methods may also be explored. Researchers and conservation professionals will share experiences in protecting vulnerable marine habitats and species. The importance of interdisciplinary and community-based approaches to marine conservation will be highlighted.
