Fisheries Science, Aquaculture and Sustainable Seafood

Fisheries and aquaculture play important roles in food security, employment, livelihoods, and coastal economies. This session explores advances in fisheries science, sustainable aquaculture, marine resource management, and seafood production. Discussions will cover fish population dynamics, stock assessment, sustainable harvesting, aquaculture technologies, fish health, nutrition, and disease management. The effects of climate change, habitat degradation, overfishing, and pollution on fisheries will also be considered. Innovative approaches to responsible aquaculture and ecosystem-based fisheries management may support long-term sustainability. Researchers will discuss monitoring technologies, data-driven management, and improved production systems. Collaboration between scientists, industry, policymakers, and fishing communities will be emphasized.
